Sir Emyr Jones Parry visits the Assembly

The Chairman of the all-Wales Convention is paying his first visit to the Assembly since his appointment.

Sir Emyr Jones Parry, the British Ambassador to the United Nations before his retirement earlier this year, is meeting First Minister Rhodri Morgan and other party leaders in Cardiff over the next two days.

Sir Emyr said:

I’m looking forward to starting work. Although my work has taken me all over the world, including periods in New York, Canada and Spain, I know Wales extremely well having lived in six different towns in the country throughout my life.

When I left my post as UN Ambassador earlier this year I was delighted to be approached to take on this role because I am keen to put something back into the country where I was born and brought up.
