Date of Event: 19/02/2009
The Workers' Educational Association (WEA) run a series of lectures every year on topical issues and on 19th February the issue of the day was law-making powers in Wales.
Over 80 people came to the Selwyn Samuel Centre in Llanelli to listen to Sir Emyr deliver a presentation. The presentation focused on the the future direction of the National Assembly, and the possibility of a referendum on more law-making powers for Wales.
Following the presentation, members of the public were encouraged to have their say on the subject and many took the opportunity to pose their questions to Sir Emyr. Ken Owen, Chair of the WEA Llanelli branch described the day as “an orderly meeting and a great success”.
The WEA is a voluntary movement dedicated to lifelong learning, whose aim is to create a democratic community educated in public affairs.
